EDITORIAL
• Associate Editor, Mindful Magazine, May 2012-August 2014
Mindful is on newsstands six times annually with a circulation of approximately 80,000 copies across Canada and the United States. It’s a lifestyle, health, and science advocacy magazine. I was responsible for the Now news section. I wrote three feature articles and was a regular contributor to the website, mindful.org.
• Special Issues Editor and Film Editor, The Coast, Halifax’s Alternative Weekly, September 2007-April 2012
I was also responsible for the On Screen page, the coverage of film and television in the paper, as well as being a frequent feature writer. I wrote and edited content for print and for the website. I wrote three blogs for thecoast.ca, on local business news (Shoptalk), local bar and restaurant news (The Feed) and local film industry news and gossip (Haliwood Insider), and contributed to The Coast’s Facebook page and Twitter feed.
I was the editor of the Best of Halifax, Best of Food, and Best of Music readers’ poll issues, the Health & Wellbeing Issue, Valentine’s Day, Hot Summer Guide, Back To School, and the December Holiday Planner, as well as five glossy information directories per year: Green Halifax, Buy Local Halifax, Food & Drink (the Restaurant and Bar Guide), Homes Halifax, and the Best of Halifax readers’ poll compendium.

PERSONAL HISTORY AND INTERESTS
For seven years I worked in the film industry in Toronto as an assistant to producers and directors. I've also worked in event planning, investor relations, and in various contract positions for the provincial and federal government. I grew up overseas, my parents worked for External Affairs Canada. I was born in Finland, and we lived in South Korea, South Africa, Iraq, and the United Kingdom, all before I turned 18. I enjoy travelling, pop culture and film, along with being outside, music, comic books, yoga, good food, and cycling.
